new airbox or k&n cone filter? 700

The top of my airbox has been held on with screws for a little while now. I am thinking now that its going to get warmner and i'll have some time off i'd like to change that and hook up remote locking! My Questions are how easy is it to swap the airbox out of another 760? Would it be easier to just buy a K&N cone filter kit and install that? What do I need to look out for? Any suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated! Thank You.
