1988+ 760T wiring question 700

Unfortunately two people preceded me in removing parts for the engine change out on my 1988 760T. The coil, which sits just above the distributor on the firewall, was removed by someone else for clearance when pulling the engine. When I re-installed the coil I had no problem connecting the blue wire to terminal 15 or the coil and the red/white wire to terminal 1 of the coil. There was no capacitor to connect, and I could not find one with the other parts in the trunk. Should the car have a capacitor connected to the low voltage side of the coil? Please see the picture below.


The coil on the 1987 740T does have a capacitor mounted on the right hand side of the coil in the picture below.
