'89 760 turbo with no boost

We've had our 760 turbo wagon for three years with no problems. Today I pulled onto the highway and had no power, it was like I was driving a regular four cylander car. The turbo gauge never went beyond the midway point, even as the car was still accelerating and the RPMs were rising (as you can tell, I'm not a mechanic). The car runs smoothly, just no power. Yesterday, the car was fine. Today I have no boost. Is my turbo dying (or dead)? Could there be another problem?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan
