Tail light replacement 200

As far as I know, replacing a single lens, other than the reverse light, is not possible.

Are the brake lights the lower outer lights or the upper inners? My Volvo Service manual 240 1985 Wiring Diagrams sez that's the way it should be, but that may be a mid-year change.

Do you have rear fog lights? The book shows them as the larger filament in the lower outer lamps. If this is the case, they are 32watt and make a lot of heat. More than the plastic can handle.

The best place I have found for replacement units is eBay. You will need to contact any seller to make sure you get the right unit. The change in 85 or 86 to the upper brake light caused a change in the way the units accept the twist lock bulb holders for the lower outers. Also a change in the circuit boards.

Old style part has a number beginning with 3, newer one begine with a 6.

This is assuming that you have a 244, not a 245.

Good Luck,

Bob
