Soundproof 142- Noisy as hell at high speed. Request for advice/experience. 140-160

Hi guys,
My Perlux ignitor ignition from IPD is installed and it is a complete miracle in simplicity. Now that she is all road ready and everything is fixed, I am ready for the next level: soundproofing

On my 83 240 I purchased a "hood quiet kit" from IPD and it made a BIG difference. Does anyone know of such a thing for my 71 142E? Junkyard solutions are also greatly appreciated as I have several handy and good relations with the guys.
I am thinking about adding another level of padding on the front carpet, mainly over the tranny tunnel. I plan on using standard home carpet padding, any other ideas?
Is there some sort of sound resistant spray or other product that I could put on the firewall that would not look terrible?

I took my family for an hour drive and they all complained of headaches afterward.
Personally, I love that valvetrain noise, but you know how some non-B20 folks can be.

Any ideas?

thanks in advance for the help.
