heat gauge

thanks, I kinda figured that, but I also noticed that the pannel from my 84 had no temp comp board, the 88 of coarse does. Tomorrow I am going to disconnect the sender to see what the gauge reads cold. I did this today but I wasn't sure that the car was cold when I did it. As soon as I turn the car on the gauge seemed to go 3/4 way up, then as I drove it home, it went almost all the way up, then it dropped to the hot line and stayed there. I have to play more tomorrow,. Thanks again for the info you sent. Wayne
