Motor Mount Wires Broken 900 1994

Hi All,

I recently replaced the hydralic motor mounts on my 94 960 wagon and I noticed that the wires that go around the outside of the mounts have broken (on both mounts). Not sure if this is a problem and wanted to get someones input. I checked the mounts and everything is tight in terms of bolts and they are put on properly. I did not buy top of the line mounts (50 bucks each).

In any case is this a safety problem? I don't know what the retainig wires are supposed to do other than (perhaps) guard against excessive play.
