244 Diesel buying tips 200

Hi guys

I am looking into buying a early 244GL D6 which is of course the DIESEL. After 3 years volvo-ing in a 144 I pretty much know where to look for rust, bushings that have had their best time and all that. The car I am looking at has been standing still for a couple of years. It has done about 260000 km /160000 miles. And has a 4 speed-overdrive gearbox.

A couple of questions:

1:

What do I need to watch out for???? Enginewise that is…

2:

Would it be possible to take Turbo from a 740 Turbodiesel and fit it on the 244 D24 engine? Is this a regular swap or is it more complicated than that? Any experiences???

3:

Is it possible to fit A/C on a Diesel? Can anyone send me engine pics of that?

Thank you I will keep you posted on the developments….

You can also email me off-list siewers@usa.net
