Started up the rebuilt B18 today... 444-544 1963

I recall on my 67 144 I did two things which resulted in your symptoms.
I had the clutch plate in backwards and forgot to put in the bushing in the flywheel which gives you proper alignment and support to transmission to engine.I was a ripe old age of 16 at the time and was so anxious to get old big red on the road that my all nighter resulted in mistakes on my part(1973). Hope my goof may help solve your problem. Mike
