A/C blows warm after 10 minutes 1993

I have a 1992/09 Volvo 850, 1993 by documents.
My A/C starts blowing warm after its been working for about 7 to 10 minutes. The switch to warm happens even faster on the warmer days. I can still get it going as long as I turn it off, let it stay idle for about 5-10 minutes, and than turn it on. It works for another 10 minutes or so, and than again begins to blow warm.
Please advise how I should approach this problem. "Midas" told compressor malfunctioning, otehr shops said evaporator or other likages. I want to know the truth, please help.
