Am I checking the correct things? 700 1986

Did the engine actually stall, bringing the car to a stop? Did the speedo go to zero while the car was still moving? Did the tach drop rapidly to zero even though the engine kept running?

The car did not stop. It just lost acceleration for a fraction of a second. I believe if power didn't kick back on it would have stopped. The speedo went to zero with the car moving. The engine was turning, but not 'running'.

I'm going to check those wires that you mentioned.
