Girling VS. Bendix calipers 700

Hola Bricksters:
I have had it with the rattling in the Girling sliding bolts of my 89 740!! I've replaced them twice with the rebuild kit from FCPGroton and still that embarassing rattling. Now I have found a set of Bendix calipers from an 88 740. They are solid and no looseness in the sliding bolt. Now for the question: is there any difference in the quality/longevity of the 2 brands? Where is Bendix made? I believe Girling is British. Any thoughts?
