clutch probs - bump just before clutch is fully engaged?

How 'bout putting model/year where it says?

I had a clutch that did that and it turned out that a mechanic
had put the throwout bearing in backwards and it wore a groove
in the fingers of the diaphragm pressure plate. As you would let
out the clutch, the bearing nose would fall into the groove and
give a rather hasty partial engagement. It finally wore all the
way through the fingers and would stick with the clutch pedal
down and the clutch partly engaged.

Moral of the story: If you want the job done right, do it y'sef.
