Fork in the road? 960 long.......... S90-V90

This will be the 201hp version, just like your 94. $1,500 is a steal in my mind. My only concern would be the porous block issues of the 1993 vintage.

There was a damaged 960 on eBay last week that had a good engine and trans, the car was going for $500 as a parts car. It had only 68k miles. I considered buying it myself but my wife would kill me (we already have 5 cars). But a relatively new engine/trans for $500 (plus trucking the car here). What a deal.

I don't know how you can check for porous block syndrome. Perhaps by casting number. You may want to check the FAQ's, they might have the casting numbers of the bad blocks listed (seems to me I've seen that someplace). If so, you can then check this new engine to see if it is of the new design.

What a sweet opportunity. Good Luck.
