OD relay wired wrong? 200 1983

Just got a Silver '83 244 Turbo automatic last week - my first Volvo

Bought it from a specialist here in Austin - it was a trade in. They replaced rear main and tranny front seals, and installed a "new" salvaged turbo unit. They told me in all honesty that I'd spent more time driving it before I bought than they had - the previous owner did most of the maint. himself

here's the question - the OD off indicator lights up as the default. I thought this was strange because everything I've read here says it should be opposite. Finally, after several days of driving, I figured out that when the light says off, the OD is actually on. (2800 rpm highway when indicator says off, 3500 rpm or more when supposedly on. Duh, it took me a few days to catch this - I feel like a fool)

anyway - is this a common wiring mistake, and is it anything I should worry about? I can live with an annoying yellow light on my dashboard if it means less work for me.

Thanks
