What caused the engine to fail and how much to fix? 200 1988

If the car is nice cosmetically and really does have good brakes, suspension,
etc. It's probably worth the price. I buy 240s in NJ that don't run but can
be brought back to life for anywhere from $300-700. You just have to see the
car. Also when looking at the car that is the time to negotiate the price
even lower. I think you could get that for $500. After all you have to tow it
or pay someone to tow it. Cared for used engines with 200k miles on them
still have factory honing so you can get a good used motor and have a nice
Volvo. Happy rolling!
