Instrument lighting... 140-160 1968

My 142 has never had working Instrument panel lights. The warning lights work, (oil, amp, brights, turn, but my brake warning light doesn't) but the dash won't light up so I have to use my aftermarket tach to know how fast I'm going. I'm thinking of taking out the inst. panel and checking it out. I read the earlier posts on this and i can only find one of the plastic bolt/nut thingys and then the panel gets loose. Where can I get replacement bulbs for all of the lighting, (the push in bulbs, and the little bulbs for the three heater controls)... So what are the steps I need to take to get it out, and could the dimmer knob thingy on the lower lefthand corner be the problem? Should I worry too much about disconnecting the speedo cable? What do I need to do after I unscrew it? Experience and help wanted...
Thanks,
Kyle - KLR142
