tan substance in the air intake 200

Occasionally I take the hose from the air filter to the air intake off and there's always a little oil in there but the last two times there has been a tan coloured liquid in there. Anyone have any idea what this stuff is and where it's coming from. There can hasn't needed to have any radiator fluid added and only goes through a half quart of oil between changes. Its an 81 240 dl with 200,000 miles. Other than this it rides fairly well and doesn't give me much trouble. Thanx for any help. -Russ
