SRS light 700 1990

Risk is that your mech did not align the steering wheel with the new rack before reassembling.
There is only a number of revolutions the steering wheel can make before the wires to the air bag snaps.
A new rack will not cure this. You'll have to remove the airbag, and replace the connector that looks like a reel of wires.
Though I've seen reports of people repairing it by soldering, I wouldn't recommend it since it is such a critical component.

If you replace the reel-connector the fault code will remain. You'll have to clear the code in the diagnostic system manually.

As always, SRS work is performed on your own risk.
