One time, long ago, I saw a metal splash pan. At the time I had no interest. Still don't. Over 15 years of cruising JYds I have found ONE splash pan that was all there, though bent. $10, it's still in use.

BUT - the $43 I spent for a pan from fcpgroton.com was a good investment. Way tougher than OE, has reinforcements at bolt holes, and wife.sig has been unable to destroy it in 3 years.

So, what does the metal one add?
