Front door won't hold open 240 wagon

The drivers side door of our '90 240 wagon stopped holding open when opened. On inspection, the little gizmo, a sort of metal "loop" thing that is on the door jam, not the door,is cracked on the loop part. It gives way a bit due to the crack when the door part that holds back the door applies pressure to that metal loop, thus the door will not stop and hold when open at that point. Obviously that piece needs to be replaced. Does the whole door have to come off to do that? A dealer item or only a "junk yard" item? Thanks.
