The Mystery of A/C compressor clutch removal?

My '86 740GLE wagon (non-turbo) has no continuity on the A/C compressor
clutch coil (yes, I checked the ground!) I got a junkyard replacement
compressor intending to swap it's coil into my existing compressor.
However, no one (including my local Volvo shop) was sure about how to
remove the clutch from the compressor. I removed the center bolt, then
tried to use bolts in the 5mm bolt holes to push it off, but it would
not budge. Is the washer/retainer/whatever (shown in the picture url)
threaded or something? What do I do next (other than despair ;-)
Thanks for you assistance!
