Tied Up over Tie Rods 200 1980

My 1980 DL with Cam Gear (#2 under the "steering" plate) needs replacement of the right inner tie rod. It is not a turbo and does not have power steering. I thought that the body shop was out of it when they couldn't find the right part. I ordered a right inner tie rod for the Cam Gear and it didn't fit. I needed a female end and a little shorter hole than the part that I received. Could it be a ZF part be needed because the car was hit on the right front many years ago and some body shop may have replaced the steering rack with a ZF? Or are there any other inner tie rods I could use?

Thanks in advance
