Speaking of awful ScanTech products 200

When I re-installed the head on the sedan I used a Wahler t-stat and the t-stat gasket from the Elring head gasket set. What a difference. They were replacing the ST gasket and ST (Calorstat.. French made) t-stat. Aside from the fact that the Calorstat t-stat died within a week, the ST gasket just never sealed. The new one actually fit over both sides of the thermostat, and hasn't leaked a drop. Even after the liberal application of RTV sealant, the old gasket continued to leak. And from FCP Groton there was no price difference.

No thanks ScanTech.

Now to track down the various vacuum leaks that I've managed to introduce.
