removing rotor 700 1986

I've got the distributor cap off of my 86 740. I'm planning on replacing the cap and rotor. How do I get the rotor off? It's hard to see.

Also, How do I disconnect the connector for some wires by the distributor? I want to check them more carefully for cracks since I've had problems with the car shutting off and not being able to restart it.
