air scoop 200

IDP sales a scoop that fits over the vents at the base of the windshield. It's claimed to help keep leaves, snow etc from getting in and claims to grab the air, forcing it through the ventilation system giving you fresh air.
Two things:
1] does it actually increase the amount of fresh air in the cabin.

2] Would a 'moonroof' vent like the ones sold at IDP attached to your hood work better? I'm thinking of the hood scoops on muscle cars. They had an opening at the back of the hood and the theory was that more air would enter as air was forced down from your windshield into the scoop as opposed to the amount of air you would get as it came up over your hood. Does this make sense? Any suggestions?
