stumped into over heating 900 1992

hi,
I am posting for my father. His car is a 1992 960. He had the fortunate experience of having the blocked 'patched' because it was porous. The block has actually sealed reather well to our disbelief but the problem now is that we are losing vast amounts of anitfreeze from the radiator cap. He has already purchased a new cap as the old one was leaking. When the cap is off the car and you rev the engine, antifreeeze will actually shoot up out of the resevoir! Our theory now is that the radiator is plugged and explains why so much pressure builds up, why the car runs hot and why the heater does not get very hot, even on its hottest setting. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Any help would be greatly appreciated as we scratch our heads.
