Alternator Disassembly 200 1987

Just install the new brushes, or brush holder assembly and don't worry about the appearance of the slip ring. It will conform to the new brushes in a few minutes. Embedding emery abrasive in the soft copper is to be avoided. If the alternator input is still limited then you more than likely have a bad diode, and all the polishing in world won't fix that.
