I also have the exact same trouble with my 142 instrument panel. Sometimes, when I am driving in 3rd or 4th, my "Overdrive" lamp blinks a few times. I have Zero dash lighting for illumination like yours. I have not torn into the problem yet, but hope to soon. I originally wanted to simply scrap the dash and make a deal for a Ralleye cluster on Ebay or some other source. I am having trouble getting my hands on one that is not ravaged, so I suppose that I will tear into the factory dash next.
