REALLY long drives 140-160 1970

Last August my wife and I flew from Portland, OR, to Boston to retrieve an '84 245 I'd bought sight unseen. Lee Holman went through the car and fixed much of what was wrong with it before we got there.

Boston straight west across Ontario, up to the northern tip of Michigan's lower peninsula to visit friends there, back down to Chicago to have lunch with another friend, back up to visit yet another in Wisconsin, then back to SW Washington as quick as we could get there.

They frown on letting tools and spare parts on airliners, so we had nothing but a quart of oil, a bottle of window cleaner, a roll of paper towels, and the little factory toolkit that came with the car. No problems whatsoever apart from adjusting the new alternator belts twice as they seated in.
