breather box - PCV quick check? 200 1989

As a quick check to see if the flame trap breather box is clogged, should we be able to feel some type of cycling positive pressure release from the top of the flame trap if pulling the hose off while engine is running/revving?

Checking the flame trap/small hose/nipple etc. is easy, but getting at the breather box is more difficult, just looking for a quick sure check if it.

Thanks,
Greg Mustang
