afraid of turbo volvos 700 1992

Hi all

Today i went by a indy volvo shop in chicago to see if John, the owner, wanted to buy my '88 245 for parts car. and he told one of his mechanics that i was selling my car.So we were talking a bit and he said that he would not buy a turbo Volvo. i asked him why and he said that they are very expensive when then go bad. He said something like a grand to replace the turbo. I was like "what kind of turbo would cost a thousand dollar". So then i got a little spooked about the '92 745T i will be picking up tomorrow. I'm thinking...what am i getting myself into? So what is the deal with Turbo Volvos? Before i get into boost, gauges, dawes, apc and all that other Sh!t, I will get comfortable with the maintenance of the turbo car.Oh well, I'm in it to win it.

thanks for any responses on this matter.
