That really does not sound that bad, you have done quite a bit of the work, but the rest can eat up some time. I've done alot of my own a/c work but there is a lot to be said for a GOOD A/C man, I've run across a couple in my travels but most are mechanics that can't get out of working on air conditioners. I think I'd pay it, if he's that good you won't regret it.
Thats just what I think.
