Oil leaking out of filler cap on valve cover 700

My 89 740 GT B230Fis leaking oil out of filler cap on the valve cover. I've owned this Volvo about four weeks now, been driving it @ 100 miles a day. In the past week or so this leaking started. I checked the gasket on the cap, appears good and the cap fits fairly snug. The rim where the cap fits does not appear to be damaged as well. I suspected flame trap clogged only to find no actual flame trap instead a powered valve devise(I don't know what this named) and don't know if it may be inop. or has anything to do with the oil leaking out of the filler cap. I've owned many cars and never had an oil leak from this location. Any and all info greatly accepted. 1967 122S 110K 1986 240DL 255k 1989 740 GL 182K
