rear spring removal 200

Hi

I have a question concerning the rear spring removal on a 1989 240 wagon.

6 years ago the coil springs were removed by so called spring compressors - I´ve heard about it that they could be removed too by placing a jack under the differential bellhousing and operate with it as long as the spring comes free.

Could somebody tell me how exactly I should do this "jack under diff" job, cause I´m somehow afraid of damaging something on the bellhousing when putting the jack on the wrong place.

Thanks a lot in advance

...lots of greetings

Ciao M.P.
