sun roof mechanism - My 2 cents 900 1993

Hi there ---

I once remember playing with a the factory sunroof on my 1991 740. Take out the crank, or motor, or whatever that operates your sunroof. Perhaps you had a loose crank. There should be 2 sets of rail-like things. These pull each side of the sunroof. You'll know what I mean when you see it. I bet that the crank or motor slipped and caused one track to be ahead of the other. Use a screwdriver or some similar object to carefully manipluate the tracks so the sunroof is even. Or you can remove the crank/motor and try to push the sunroof straight. Let me know if you don't know what I mean, b/c it's kind of hard to explain. But just play with the roof itself (with crank/motor removed) and you should get results!
