Overdrive issues: Update

Where did you get the tool for the solenoid?

Best tool I've used is a modified 1" crows foot from Sears. It needs to be ground on the sides to just under 1/4 inch in thickness. $7.00 and about 15 minutes on a grinder.

AS you grind, keep it cool with frequent dips in water. If you see blue metal, you are not dipping enough.

Leave about half of the part number and name stamp to keep the socket part full thickness.

Why get another at the junk yard? Once you have yours off, if it has a circlip in the end (see pick if I got it right)it is cleanable and since you hear it, the coil is still good. You just have fluid inside that needs to be let out.

The O-rings that keep the fluid where it should be should be replaced when you have it open.
