Links to URLs in posts

Colin --

Im general, the method is as follows:

In this sentence, I am including a hyperlink, which says click here for Google, and should work fine.

The construction of this sentence is:

In this sentence, I am including a hyperlink, which says [a href="http://www.google.com/"]click here for Google[/a], and should work fine.

However, when YOU create the text for your post, replace the square brackets in my example with the arrowhead brackets, which are the uppercase comma and period keys. (If I tried to display the arrowhead brackets for you, the browser would interpret them as HTML and obey them rather than show them.)

If you want to display an image directly in your post, you can embed the HTML command to retrieve the image file from any server and include it with your words. For example, this command will dirctly display an image (again, use the arrowhead brackets in place of the square brackets):

The "center" and "/center" commands center everything between them on the page. It's good for a picture, crummy for most text.

The border="1" command in the image specification simply puts a thin black border around the image. A "2" or "3" or "4" puts an increasingly heavier border. Omitting the border statement is the same as using "0" -- no border.

I could just as easily use the address for an image far removed from my own images -- for example, I could include something from Snap-on by grabbing the address for one of their images:

Note that an image is a "jpg" file instead of an "htm" or "html" file.

I'll be happy to elaborate either here or by email.
