Dating engine block 700 1988

The number on my block is:

B230FT 1289 150 0130

The last four digits could be 0530. The second number in the group is almost illegible.

Question is, is the second group, "1289" a mm/yy build date?

My car is an '88 but the manufacture date on the ID sticker in the door jamb has faded. Looks like 10/87. The car was first registered, according to Carfax, in 2/88.

I'm trying to determine if I have the original block or if the engine was swapped with a later B230FT.

Thanks,
