B20 won't rev enough 140-160 1973

Hi,

I got my 142 back from the panel shop at the weekend - al looking very nice. I had a 2 1/4" exhaust put onat the same time.

The problem is that it won't really rev past about 4000rpm - 70mph? I got between 135 and 150 psi compression, and it does puff a little blue smoke on overruns. I fitted a new Pertronix and cleaned the disributor, timing advances to about 35 degrees, tappets all set at 21thou, plugs cleaned and gapped, distributor cap looks new (and I cleaned it anyway), and the plug leads looked good. No sparking or mistracking when I ran the motor in the dark.
Is this the dreaded worn cam syndrome, or has anyone any suggestions for anything else to look at?

Help me! I want to use the car for a TSD rally next weekend!

Regards

JohnH
