P 1800 ENGINE CRADLE ADJUSTMENT? 1800

P1800 ENGINE CRADLE SHIMS
Does anyone know the reason for the shimson the cradle of all the P1800's
I am speaking of the ones at the front on both sides between the frame and the cradle, not the ones on the upper A frame or control arm. ARE they for Caster or possibly to position the engine lower to give hood clearance?
