stupid magnaflow muffler 700 1991

Hi folks,
Well, out of all my good intentions for my car, this has got to be the worst. I have a 91 740 n/a and decided to do some work here and there. I figured I could do a catback exhaust with just a nice freeflowing muffler on the back. So I went to the local exhaust shop explained what I was looking for. I specifically said I do not want a Honda "BAWWWWWWW" sound when I rev my engine but just a little louder than stock, to give the car a little umphhh. He said, I can not guarantee that it will not be loud but it should not. So he did the work, I indeed say it looks good, he put a magnaflow muffler on the back and with the OEM body kit it looks damn slick. To my disapointment, I get the loud drowning "bawwwww" sound like on the ricers. He said he was surprised, and offered to put a new resonator or reverse glasspack(glassback, I don't know exactly what he said)...and it should quiet down to what you want. I did research on the board before hand with the search and most said they were happy with a "performance" muffler, saying it was not too loud. I guess what I am really asking is whether I should get the resonator or glasspack? If all else fails, I will go onto FCP and get the factory OEM catback replacement and have that put on and try and sell the "performance" muffler. Thanks for reading my question/rant/frustration/grrrr.
