A/C bypass for power steering 200

My '87 245 has some bushing issues at the a/c compressor.
I noticed that bushings are inexpensive. I do not have the $ to give the a/c the needed conversion ($125 ? from ipd) but I am concerned for the power steeing pump that is being yanked by the misaligned a/c.
My 86 244 has a bad compessor (or clutch) I plan on keeping this non A/C. So I am thinking of a bypass kit for the 245 until I get $ to convert to R134 and then move the bypass to the 244.

Has anyone done the bypass? I noticed that ipd has a bypass spacer and new bolts, belt for $40. I could not find the same at groton or trollhattan. Any other sources? Shoul I just do the bushings now and forget the bypass? Comments? Suggestions? Hints or tips with either?

Thanks
Miguel
