oil consumption 200

my recently aquired 244 -81 with B19A has used around 1L oil in 2K miles. I have cheapo 10w-40 mineral oil in. The engine has 106 K on it. PO claimed he changed oil every 3K. Engine runs fine now but i've had carburetor problems until recently. I've done a compression test and got 160, 160, 158 and 156 psi. Didn't try to se if it got higher with oil in cylinders. Engine runs smooth and is not noisy. I thinking that the oil consumption can be beacause the rubber things that sits on top of the valve guides have gone bad beacause of age. They also improved over the years I believe. Will changing them to new and better style reduce oil consumption?
