Starts fine, dies when warm, no low end power. 700 1987

Over the last few months I've had an intermittent stalling problem. Recently it has become a sure thing, perhaps due to the constant rain Vancouver has had. The car will start with no problems, but will completely die within 1 km of my home. The tach drops and I lose all power. Usually after a couple minutes, I can start it up, but as soon as i try to drive, it will stall again. If I rev it up for a while it will have some rough spots which will disappear until I begin driving again. After some hard revs and driving the problem doesn't show up until the next time i start up. I've checked the fuel pumps, line, relays, replaced the fuel pressure regulator. My mechanic says he cannot diagnose the problem further than that. The plugs, distributor are fine and we cannot find any vaccum leaks. The next step is to look at sensors and I'm guessing the ECU. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
