hard start wet 200 1987

With over 200 thousand miles, my brick owes me nothing, but still...
My daughter hates to be seen in this car. I think she is a bit spoiled. Therefore I drive her in it every chance I get.
My 87 240 won't start on very wet days, or else it runs barely, and then very roughly, until whatever was wet in the ignition dries out. Then it's fine. Cold and dry, no problem.
The alternator cap has been recently replaced. Suppose I should check it again. What else can I check? How can I isolate it?
