240 DL 1987 with 230F engine will not start!! 200 1987

I just got a 1987 240 DL with a recently rebuild motor and ever more recently rebuild trans knowing that it wouldn't run and that the fuel computer was bad according to the mechanic that worked on it last. After some exhausting troubleshooting all I managed to do was to eliminate some areas of concern but it is getting more comfusing.
Here are the facts.
The car starts for a brief second when cranked and dies.
If I disconnect the Mass Airflow Sensor it starts and idles but dies as soon the throttle is depressed or the sensor is reconncted. I checkec the sensor per the diagnostic in the chilton book and it checks OK. I replaced the Fuel Computer 3 times now and it still does the same thing. I replaced the Air flow sensor and still the same. I even replaced the iginition module and it is still the same. I checked the temp sensor and it is OK per the Chilton Book.
So....what gives??/
I replaced the Fuel Pressure regulator just because, but that wasn't it either.
I checked the fuel pressure and it is a solid 30 PSI.
I checked grounds all over, vacuum leaks, repaired any cracked hoses, but still the same.
Help Please
