Bosch ECU interchange -- 90 745 w/Regina 700

I'm still having cold start problems (flooding unless i hold pedal to floor) with a 90 745 that has the rex regina system. Already eliminated cold start injector, AMM, idle air valve, and fuel pressure regulator as possible causes, as well as plugs, wires, dist cap. The care has a 553 Bosch ECU, which seems to be hard to find used. I have a spare one that is a 563. Does anyone know if this will work? If I try it on the car, will I cause any damage? thanks all
