Add brake hoses to that list of items to replace. If you're driving on the originals, they're 35 years old now and quite porked. The hoses swell shut with age and, in my experience, act like a frozen caliper causing the uneven pad wear.

Uneven wear could also mean a frozen caliper (one or more pistons). Neglected calipers plus old watery brake fluid equals piston seizure. I've used the oem rebuild kits with success - new pistons, boots, etc. Next time I'll just replace the caliper pair, front or back, with rebuilt units.

It's a good time for new rotors if the old ones have had it. Of course, new pads.

How about the wheel bearings, while you're in there....
