One nice thing about using the clear hose is that you can see when bubbles start to form in the fluid being expelled. Once the bubbles appear to be taking up about 50-65% of the mixture in the hose I shut it off and and add fluid. I've never really worried too much about running the sump dry. Just keep an eye to the hose and be ready to turn the engine off if no fluid is being expelled. Just GUESSING on volume/time I would say a quart in 20-30 seconds.
